Summer Meals Associate – F/T Temporary

Department: Programs and Services

Reports to: Children’s Programs Coordinator, Direct Service Programs

Overview

Assist in implementation and daily operation of the Food Bank of South Jersey’s Summer Meals programs, including site monitoring, back-up van driver for additional deliveries of fresh or shelf stable meals, and assisting with any warehouse activities such as order pulling and van loading as needed.

This is a full-time, in-person, temporary position beginning June 2 through August 29, 2025. The pay rate is $20/hr. Workdays are Monday – Friday, approximate hours 8AM – 4PM. Unpaid time-off requests evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assists Summer Meals admin team with site communications and document management
  • Assists Summer Meals admin team with scheduling and confirming shelf stable meal deliveries with program sites
  • Works directly with Compliance Administrator to
    • Conduct pre-op site visits (materials delivery, etc.)
    • Monitor Summer Meals sites to ensure compliance with food safety and meal reporting requirements 
    • Follow up on corrective actions from monitoring and pre-op visits 
    • Ongoing site visits as needed
    • Assist with submitting order changes
    • Maintain monitoring forms and site notes
  • Assists with pick-ups from fresh meal caterer and deliveries to sites as needed
  • Assists loading vans with shelf stable meals as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license (non-probational) and 2 years of driving experience 
  • Customer service skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Microsoft suite skills
  • Spanish language skills a plus
